I read the report on water cut in Selangor. Water cut notice must have Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) based on what Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) prescribe or specify. Water companies can perform better than the prescribed benchmark (if there is any). Scheduled maintenance are norm for any industry. Based on system design, if the reserve margin is low, it may take longer than Friday for some areas to fill up. We must remember, the resumed supply needs to fill up, reservoirs, storage tanks at buildings and catering normal demand. A situation like Penang’s last water cut may occur. This has nothing to do with SYABAS capex. It is more on planning.
